Rabbit Stew: Epitaph for year one.

Epitaph for year one.

I've been posting here a year now.

I'll not be going shooting for a little while since my rifle's currently being worked on at Sandwell Field Sports. Its action was described to me, prior to going in for treatment, as sounding 'like a skeleton masturbating in a biscuit tin'.

So on that note, I'll start the second year of the Rabbit Stew Blog.

Cheers all,

HH

  1. I love that description of the air rifle's woes; rattling the biscuit tin will never be the same.
I look forward to reading your 2010 adventures.

  2. Time to pick up a catapult then and see what you can hunt in the meantime.

Oh, and thanks. You've just made skeletons THAT much more creepy to me. And biscuit tins THAT much more suspect.

  7. Nick: I send you my very sincere thanks.

Mungo: I spent quite a while mooching about on catapult hunting sites, actually, but in the end I thought that the broken knuckles and the huge amount of practise needed before even approaching a degree of semi-humane accuracy ruled them out for me. Looked kinda fun though, even so.

Murphy: The quote's from Tony Wall, the owner of Sandwell Field Sports and organiser of the Penkridge shoot. He does have a way with the pithy phrase.

Stevo: It's a memorable image and no mistake.

SBW: Fresh post just out of the oven tonight.

Buddhanature: Tony is a magician (looks like one, too) so I reckon it will be, yes.

    Cheers all,

    HH
